Rexford Date Night
A little while after the Rexford-Slesse Horseshoe, Jas asked me: Do you think I could do Rexford? To which I responded: Abso-freakin-lutely, my dear! Below is a Video we made of the trip, and blog post continues below for a short recap! If you have read enough of my blog posts, you will likely conclude that I will never get tired of Rexford and Slesse. Not only are these peaks iconic, but it is nigh impossible to have a bad day scampering up, around, and over these granite pl

Twin Sisters Traverse Bike-athon
I'd seen many people scramble the Twin Sisters either individually or linked together in a traverse, and I had long admired the orangey dunite rock, reputable for it's exceptional grip and solid structure. Unfortunately, these wonderful peaks are blocked by a logging road gate at the bottom of a long FSR, forcing many to either hike or bike an additional 8km to and from the trailhead. Of course, most people opt to drive to the gated bridge and ride up on e-bikes, mountain bik

Ski Shenanigans of the '25-26 Season (Pipe Dream Couloir + Wahleach Ski Traverse)
After a lack-luster winter snowpack, our expectations for skiing caught a snag. Despite the bipolar conditions, we made the most of it and enjoyed some great days on the planks. In this post: Mt Ann & Pipe Dream Couloir The Wahleach Ski Traverse (plus a YouTube Video) The winter started off seemingly strong with snowfall in November. However, it was quickly followed by a December deluge... ahem... I mean atmostpheric river. The snowpack melted out, causing streams to wreak ha

Anniversary Adventures 2.0 - Markhor-Needle & Tomyhoi
Jas and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary of marriage in style, bagging peaks and basking in the sun. Jas and I had a pretty great summer of smaller adventures, including a day hike with UFV Alumni friends up Conway Peak. Carl, Eli, Jag, Jenna, Jas, and I all crammed into Carl's car and started up from Jones lake for a great day catching up, exploring the old mining trail. We also enjoyed a chill long weekend in Whistler, testing out Jas' new bike (The Purple Dust Bunny), hiki

The Rexford-Slesse Horseshoe: The Trip of a Lifetime
From August 19-24, 2025, my friend Ben and I set out for a 5-day traverse over 25 peaks. We completed it, but only after 3+ years of scouting, planning, trying, failing, more scouting, and re-planning. Read-on and watch-on below! This blog posts dives more in-depth than the Film, so keep scrolling if you are interested in the details. Buckle-up, this is a long one. I justify the length of this post because it took 3 years to accomplish this linkup, which itself took 5 full da

Forging the Horseshoe: Prelude to The Rexford-Slesse Traverse
From August 19-24, 2025, my friend Ben and I set out for a 5-day traverse over 25 peaks. We completed it, but only after 3+ years of scouting, planning, trying, failing, and re-planning. This post delves into all the details that made this trip possible. The entire 3-year process felt very similar to "redpointing" a climb at a crag. If you are unfamiliar with this climbing jargon, it is when a someone encounters a difficult route that requires more than just one attempt (whi

The Slesse Massif Traverse
As the last scouting mission for an even bigger project, Greg and Mike set off to traverse the Slesse Massif, a jagged linkup of 6 summits: Labour Day, Station D, Point 2187, North Star, South Slesse, and Slesse Peak.

The Art of the Hike-a-Bike
Life is filled with great combos: burger and fries, peanut butter and jam sammy, movies and popcorn, birdsong in a forest. One of the most joyous, yet rarely pursued, is the hike-a-bike . My friend Nate and I delved into this dark art to a great extent in 2022 , pushing our steeds up mountains and "riding" down chonky FSRs, resulting in magnificently "fun" sufferfests. Jas and I went one step further in April of this year with our Bike-2-Ski up Mt Cheam , lugging a chariot an

Cheam Range Eastbound FKT Attempt
Brennan, Lukas, and I geared up for a wild romp in the Cheam Range. The goal? Traverse all eight peaks in a single day. Back in 2022, Ben and I completed a Westbound Traverse of the Cheam Range , starting from Jones Lake, and finishing at Bridal Falls over 52 hours with 2 bivies. It was, and still is, one of the biggest and most memorable adventures that I have ever done. The Cheam Range has always been special, but became even more so after one of Ben's and my camp spots bel
